Local man Pete Hornby started at the Stafford Lau Gar club as one of the first students to enrole. Pete took over as Stafford's chief instructor in 1983 and was appointed a Guardian of Lau Gar in 2000. Pete is one of the most experienced members of the British Kung Fu Association and the students of the Stafford club are very fortunate to have him as their chief instructor.
The Stafford Lau Gar Kung Fu Club was established in 1975 and has been dedicated to high-quality kung fu instruction ever since. With champions in semi-contact fighting, traditional fighting and set movements the level of Lau Gar instruction available at the club is second to none.
The British Kung Fu Association (BKFA) was set up in 1973 and Master Jeremy Yau, being the keeper of the Lau Gar style, was invited to be its chief Instructor.
Master Yau accepted the invitation and Lau Gar Kuen has since become Britain's most popular form of Kung Fu.
