Always wanting to take up Kung Fu, at the time
there were no clubs in Wolverhampton. Kung Fu Mania had hit the world
however only club available was a Karate club. As soon as Kung Fu
opened up, Barry was hooked. Date acheived black sash: 1985.
The Stafford Lau Gar Kung Fu Club was established in 1975 and has been dedicated to high-quality kung fu instruction ever since. With champions in semi-contact fighting, traditional fighting and set movements the level of Lau Gar instruction available at the club is second to none.
The British Kung Fu Association (BKFA) was set up in 1973 and Master Jeremy Yau, being the keeper of the Lau Gar style, was invited to be its chief Instructor.
Master Yau accepted the invitation and Lau Gar Kuen has since become Britain's most popular form of Kung Fu.
