Andy started with Stafford Lau Gar back in the early 80's but just after having taken his black sash he was recruited by the Royal Hong Kong Police. This resulted in a long break in training. "Too long", Andy says. "I really missed my kung fu training during the enforced break but I'm right back into it now thanks to the high level of instruction available at the Stafford club." Date acheived black sash: 1987.
The Stafford Lau Gar Kung Fu Club was established in 1975 and has been dedicated to high-quality kung fu instruction ever since. With champions in semi-contact fighting, traditional fighting and set movements the level of Lau Gar instruction available at the club is second to none.
The British Kung Fu Association (BKFA) was set up in 1973 and Master Jeremy Yau, being the keeper of the Lau Gar style, was invited to be its chief Instructor.
Master Yau accepted the invitation and Lau Gar Kuen has since become Britain's most popular form of Kung Fu.
